It goes without saying that my love language is gifts. I know that I am materialistic, but I feel special when I receive any kind of gift (it doesn't have to be purchased). So this Mother's Day was extra great. First Anthony convinced me to order an iPad. Although we have had it only a couple of days, I can't see how I had such a hard time deciding on whether to order it or not. Now Anthony & Matt are both wanting to use it, so we are constantly fighting over turns at least while we are in the car. Matt for games, Anthony for the iPod, and me for iBooks.
Not only a great present, but my boys took me to Charlotte for the weekend. Have I said that I could live in Charlotte. So of my favorite things can be found in or around Charlotte (Carowinds, Sticky Fingers, and the Cheesecake Factory). I got to enjoy them all. First we spent Saturday and part of the day on Sunday at Carowinds. The new ride was worth the wait and Trystan even got to ride a few rides. He really has blended into our adrenaline seeking family perfectly. Matt even wanted to ride rides with Trystan, but we put it off until he is a little bigger. We ate at Sticky Fingers for lunch on Saturday and Steak and Shake for dinner. Along the way we even had some pool time.
On Sunday morning we at breakfast at the hotel. There was this cute Japanese couple who didn't speak much English that just loved Trystan. The park wasn't as crowded, so we got to ride several rides and we even met Snoopy and Charlie Brown. We had to wait two hours for lunch, but it was sooooo worth it. Anthony & I both had Steak Diane. It was as good, if not better than I remembered. Then we had four pieces of cheesecake because Matt ordered the wrong kind. I couldn't stand to see him almost cry because he got the wrong kind, so we let him take the waitress to the display and show her which kind he wanted. Funny thing is that what he wanted had the wrong name on it at the display case.
My guys are the best. I am so blessed to have you in my life. I realize how fortunate that I am to have all of you in my life. You make every single day so special that I am speechless just thinking about it. I love you and my prayer is that you continue to be in my life for many, many years to come. That my boys, all three, are happy and healthy and that Christ is first, you all are second, and that somewhere I rank in your top five. Also I pray that all my friends and family members can be just a fraction as happy as I am. If so, then they will be ecstatic.
